1. Introduction
JotAboutMe ("we," "us," or "our") operates the JotAboutMe website (the "Service"). This page explains what personal data we collect when you use the Service, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following information to provide and improve the Service:
• Account data: your name and email address, which you give us or which Google, Apple, or Facebook sends us when you sign in with them.
• Shelter applications: if you apply for a free account for an animal shelter or rescue, the details you enter on that form. They are emailed to us to review your application and are not added to your JotAboutMe account.
• Household data: the members of your household, the caretakers you invite, and their roles.
• Animal data: the profiles, photos, feeding and medication details, and notes you add.
• Task data: the jots you create, complete, and comment on, and a history of those actions.
• Technical data: your browser type and, if you turn on notifications, your browser's push subscription.
3. Signing in
You can sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, or with a one-time link we email to you. Google, Apple, and Facebook tell us your name, your email address, and an identifier for your account with them; we never see your password. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we receive Apple's forwarding address instead of your real one. Sign-in links are sent through our email provider, Resend. We use these details only to create and recognise your JotAboutMe account.

4. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
• Provide and maintain the Service, including sharing animal and task information with your household and the caretakers you invite.
• Send the notifications you have turned on.
• Process JotMe+ subscriptions.
• Provide support and respond to your requests.
• Tell you about important changes to the Service.
5. Who can see your information
Everyone in your household can see the household's animals, jots, notes, and photos. A caretaker you invite can see only the animal you invited them to. We do not sell your personal data.
We share data with service providers who help us run the Service, as described below, and when the law requires it.
6. Payments
JotMe+ subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered on a page hosted by Stripe and are never sent to or stored by JotAboutMe. We keep a record of your subscription status and a Stripe customer identifier so we know which households have JotMe+. Stripe's handling of your information is described in the Stripe Privacy Policy at stripe.com/privacy.
7. Advertising
Households on the free plan and the free trial are shown advertisements provided by Google AdSense. Households with JotMe+ are not shown ads.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), and out of some other vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices. 8. Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. It cannot be read by scripts on the page and is not used for tracking. We also store a copy of your household's data in your browser so pages load quickly; it is cleared when you sign out.
If you are shown ads, Google AdSense sets its own cookies as described in the Advertising section. Where the law requires your consent for these, you will be asked before they are set.
9. Notifications
If you turn on notifications, your browser gives us a push subscription that lets us send notifications to that browser. You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings or in your browser's site settings, and we then delete the subscription.
10. Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account removes your personal data and cancels any JotMe+ subscription you pay for. If you are the last member of your household, its animals, jots, notes, and photos are deleted as well; otherwise they remain with the other members of the household.
11. Security
The security of your data is important to us, but no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
12. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top.
